Today the OTHL Atlanta Thrashers were purchased by a business man from Calgary named James Love 2nd. Mr.Love made his millions selling high end tooth picks and t-shirts that read "Horse Cock" on them.
"I wanted to purchase the Thrashers because of the hot weather........have you ever spent a winter in Calgary?.......burr!", commented GM Love in a joking manner. "No really I took the Thrashers because of the great potential the team has. We have two of the top young players in the league and we feel we are in an economic situation where, unlike other teams, we have a chance to build and grow into a championship team".
Mr.Love also made the announcement that he would take over all General Manager duties for the team. When asked if he has made any plans as to what he wanted to do with the team he answered "Yes". Okay.....so much for detailed answers.
The Thrashers hold top young players such as Kovalchuk, Heatley and Savard that will compose one of the youngest and most dangerous attacking units in the league. They also bost vetran support from players like Kozlov and McEachern. Add to that players like Stefan, Lehtonen and Coburn and the team is on the right track for success. The teams obvious weakness is on defense and one would think that will be adressed before the start of the season.
