The Times - In a much expected announcement made earlier today the Philadelphia Flyers signed new General Manager Mitchell Gelz. Gelz who has upheld a solid track record as a front office man throughout major junior and semi-pro hockey has been given the opportunity to run one of the NHL's most storied franchises. In a press conference today Gelz was quoted as saying:
" I'm proud to have this great honour bestowed on my by the ownership and make it of paramount importance to strike a balance between being a cost effective and a winning hockey team. It is important for all parties involved, the team, myself, the fans that we as a organization come together this off season and find a solid game plan for the immediate and the far distant future. I believe we have all the pieces in place to be a competitive upper tier hockey team, and after some evaluation I believe there will be some obvious moves for me to make."
Only time will tell if a return to the Flyers past success is in the cards for GM Gelz
