(MONTREAL) -- The Montreal Canadiens kicked off trade-deadline day by bolstering their blueline.
The Habs announced this morning that they have acquired veteran defenseman Bob Boughner from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for defenseman Shane Hnidy and prospect Vladimir Karpov.
"We're excited to bring in someone with his experience for the playoff drive," said Canadiens head coach Claude Julien. "Bob will be a welcomed addition."
In 71 games this season, the 35-year-old has notched two goals, four assists and 73 penalty minutes.
