Rangers hope new GM will add stability

Bob Finley

GM, New York Rangers

Madison Square Garden, NY - The New York Rangers have hired veteran Bob Finley as their new General Manager. Finley brings a wealth of hockey knowledge and savvy to a team looking for some sort of direction. He added these comments at a press conference just recently held at MSG:

" We have a good mix of youth and experience but I also think we are one of those teams on the bubble, maybe a number 8 or 9 in the conference standings at the end of the year. My first duty will be to decide which direction to go in. We have enough experience in Mess and firepower in Deadmarsh and Bure to make some noise during the regular season. But I also see the weaknesses we have and they need to be addressed above all else."

GM Finley did not go into detail on what those weaknesses are but there is some speculation that the Rangers will go with a youth movement. " I will close this press conference by saying that every player on this team will be earning their playing time. We will have no favorites or untouchables when it comes to trade talks." As the preseason draws closer, expect the Rangers to make a trade or two to balance the current roster.
