As the Ball Drops in the Big Apple, A new GM is Crowned

Michael Blair

GM, New York Rangers

New York City (AP)-

It was a huge day in New York City, and not just because the ball dropped to 2006, but instead the New York Rangers have hired a new General Manager. Now the Rangers have got a quality GM, and a stable one which this organization has lacked for the last few months.

The Rangers picked up Neil Hamblin from the Detroit, Michigan. The Organization has picked up a stable and a shrewd business man who will get maximum value in deals and selecting players in the up and coming drafts. Some wonder what direction is this team are going in. Is it a rebuilding stage? Or are they chasing for the cup?.

"We are going to be a mixture of both. We have great talented squad and they some valuable playing time to gel together. We are going to take it easy for the next few weeks so I can really see this talent together. Then I will grade my teams performance and take it from there. It is still very early in the season, and were only two points out of the last playoff spot.", Hamblin stated at his press conference.

"I recall a saying that is just, in this case and that is, In with the new, and out with the old."

Was his last remarks from GM Hamblin's Press conference.
