Glendale, AZ> Faced with the prospect of going through a rebuilding process with the Coyotes, forward Mats Sundin and his agent granted the team permission to shop him to several teams. It didn't take GM Garrett Hansford to move the future hall of famer. Pending OTHL approval, the Coyotes traded Sundin to the New York Rangers in exchange for prospect Ryan O'Marra and the 3rd overall selection in the upcoming Entry Draft.
"We're hoping we can still do something with the 3rd overall pick. We hope we can move down a little, still get a good player but add a few more assets. Ryan is looking like he'll be a great NHL forward. He suffered an injury last year in junior, but our doctors have given him an a clean slate. We expect him to be on our roster as soon as a year from now."
