Deep pocketed Canadien milllionaire Garrett Hansford has been approved as the new owner of the Phoenix Coyotes and things are expected to change quickly in the desert.
"I've decided to immerse myself in this teams turnaround. I'll be working hand in hand with my staff as the new owner, President and GM of this team. With that in mind, we've notified the following players that we intend to find them new homes this summer.
Mats Sundin
Jeff Friesen
Todd Marchant
Marek Zidlicky
Chris Therien
Jason York
Dwayne Roloson
We understand Mats negotiated a contract with the previous owner, and we'll be discussing his future in regards to that as we move forward. We don't want to limit his chances to win a Stanley Cup as his career winds down."
