Colorado Avalanche News Conference

Today the Colorado Avalanche has traded Center Peter Forsberg to the Phoenix Coyotes... In return the Avalanche received Center Michael Nylander and Defenseman Adrian Aucoin. "We needed to do something to get closer to being under the cap and this made perfect sense. While we will miss Peter he has said he might not return to the NHL even after the lockout. We couldn't take the chance and traded him to a willing team and based on previous talks with other teams we got much more than we thought we would. Nylander will fill a role as 2nd line Center but the key was adding Aucoin who will definetly improve the Colorado Defense. Not only that we save 5 million this season by making this deal."
