OTHL -- Joe Sakic was dealt to the Dallas Stars earlier this season in exchange for Brendan Morrow, Teppo Numminen, Dallas Drake and Vojtek Polak. Most people belived that Sakic would then remain a Star for the rest of his career. Today those people where proved wrong when Stars new GM Shean Jooris decided to deal Sakic along with Matthew Schneider, Philipe Boucher, Cory Cross and Martin Gerber to the Phoenix Coyotes. The Stars will reicve Alexei Zhamnov, Brian Leetch, Dick Tärnström, Luke Richardson, Jussi Markannen, Ivan Novoseltsev and a 5th round draft pick in 2005. This trade also means that Joe Sakic will re-unite with Peter Forsberg and give the Coyotes yet another star player in there lineup.

"I am thrilled to be playing on the same team as Peter Forsberg. We are good friends and he is an awsome player. I am also happy to be a Phoenix Coyote. Mr Jörgenssen has really brought togheter a real top group of players here. You really get the feeling that Phoenix wants to win the cup, and they are not going to stop at anything in trying to do that." - Joe Sakic said on his way to the desert.

With two +$10 million dollar players, the Coyotes are back over the salary cap. As of right now, the Coyotes are $3,165,000 dollars over the $50 million dollar cap.

HOT PROSPECT A FLAME

In the shadow of the big Dallas - Phoenix deal, Calgary Flames brought in one of the top prospects in the OTHL. Evgeni Malkin picked 2nd overall in the 2004 entry draft, and predicted to become a bonafied #1 center in the OTHL, was acquired from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for Brendan Morrow, Nashville Predators 1st round draft pick in 2005 and $1 million dollars. Morrow joins his 5th team this season. Morrow has already represented Dallas, Colorado, Boston, Calgary and now Pittsburgh this season. Brendan Morrow where only a Calgary Flame for 6 days.

"I just hope this trading merry-go-round is over. Its depressing and tiresome to be traded all the time. I hope and pray that the Penguins will keep me around. I just want to be with a team more then 1 month. And settle in with my new teammates and my new team. I like Pittsburgh, and I hope that I can stick here. I am tired of moving around now." - Brendan Morrow said.
