Buffalo Aquires Pavelec

BUFFALO, NY - The Buffalo Sabres dealt backup goalie Alexander Auld this evening, and in return acquired goalie prospect Ondrej Pavelec and a 4th round pick in the 2007 draft. Auld was supposed to battle Ryan Miller for the starting job this season, but he failed to make it much of a battle. Pavelec may sign on with the Rochester Americans next season, should he decided to leave the QMJHL. Adam Dennis will be called up to be the backup for Ryan Miller for the remainder of the season. It is liekly the Sabres will lok for a backup goalie in the offseason, either through a trade or through free agency.
