Yashin a Sabre

OTHL -- The Buffalo Sabres continue there build up for a long post-season. After picking up Sandis Ozolinsh, Jean Pierre Dumont and Christobal Huet in the past weeks, the Sabres today acquired Alexei Yashin from the Detroit Red Wings. Yashin lead the Wings in scoring this season with 15 goals and 17 assists in 35 games. But his $5.8 million dollar contract was to much for the Red Wings who re-signed Steve Sullivan today to a $4.5 million dollar deal. In return for Yashin the Red Wings recived Mike York, who has had a so-so season so far with 22 points in 35 games. But the speedy York has the tools to become a nice asset for Detroit.
