Mathias Vaigur

GM, Chicago Blackhawks

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Chicago, December 14th 2005
The Chicago Blackhawks general manager Mathias Vaigur announced today that he has reached an agreement with Edmonton Oilers gm Matt Seaman to send Steve McCarthy to Edmonton Oilers in exchange for Tyson Nash and a 6th round pick in the 2006 entry draft.

Tyson Nash a 5'11, 195lbs left winger has only played 8 games in his OTHL career. Chicago will be his 5th OTHL team.

"We like Tyson's energy and the agitating skills he brings to a team. We feelt that with so many solid defenders on the roster right now, and a couple other young players on the way. It was time to move Steve McCarthy." - GM Mathias Vaigur said.

Steve McCarthy played 70 games for Chicago last season, registring 20 points and 107 penalty minutes.
