OTHL -- The trading merry-go-around keeps spinning in the OTHL as the trading freeze comes closer before the entry draft this weekend. Today Jeremy Roenick and Nicklas Lidström where traded. Roenick who was acquired by the Anaheim Mighty Ducks not long ago, never even meet his new teammates before he was traded again. This time Roneick will call Dallas home as the Stars picked up the feisty center for a couple of draft picks.
But the big news was Buffalo's trade of Nicklas Lidström to the Philadelphia Flyers. The Flyers trying to keep up with Boston Bruins in the eastern conference, traded up and coming defender Joni Pitkänen to the Sabres in exchange for one of the premier defenders in the league.
Nicklas Lidström who had been a member of the Detroit Red Wings since his rookie year in 1991 was traded 3 times last season, as he was first traded to Los Angeles before he was moved to the New York Rangers in November. But he only lasted 2 months in the Big Apple before he was once again traded, this time to the Buffalo Sabres where he played out the rest of the season.
