The Stanley Cup has racked up more air miles in the last month than most people do in a lifetime. The Cup's voyage began with Pat Burns at his cottage on the St. Lawrence river where he slept with it everynight.
It then boarded an ocean liner and was brought up the river to Ste. Foy, Quebec, Simon Gagne's hometown. Gagne and his buddies drank as many different alchoholic mixes as they could think of, out of the Cup.
Gagne then boarded a jet with the Cup and headed for the team's celebratory bash held in Miami Beach Florida. All the players along with coaches and management met there for the private party. A few hours in, a drunk Brent Sopel opened the doors to several hundred Miami party crashers. The event spilled out into the street and the Cup was passed from hand to hand all night.
Scott Neidermayer then brought Lord Stanley North to Edmonton, Alberta where he toured his home town and brought it to the Rockies.
It was then flown to Achorage where Scott Gomez took the Cup snowmobiling high in the Alaskan mountains.
Presently, the Cup is in the possession of Pavel Kubina, Patrik Elias and Vyacheslav Kozlov who are touring across Europe.
Lord Stanley will continue to travel across provinces, states, countries and oceans over the next month as every player ands coach gets time with it. The Devils will make the most of their summer with the Stanley Cup because before long, they will have to start up again in defence of the Championship.
