Mathias Vaigur

GM, Chicago Blackhawks

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Chicago, February 12th 2005
The Chicago Blackhawks general manager Mathias Vaigur has announced the agreement with Vancouver Canucks to trade goaltender Jocelyn Thibault, defender Brian Pothier and a 5th round draft pick in 2005 to the Vancouver Canucks. In return the Chicago Blackhawks will recive goaltender Dan Cloutier, defender Bryan Allen, winger Jason King and winger Doug Doull.

"It was a tough decision to trade Jocelyn Thibault and Brian Pothier. But we feel that we get a group of players in return, that will help us both this season and in the future. We like Dan's size and overall talent in net. Bryan Allen and Jason King are two young up and coming players, who has already made an impact on the pro level. Bryan is a big kid who plays a stay at home type of game. Jason King is a gifted winger who will give us some more scoring options up front, witch has been one of our biggest needs the entire season. I would also like to thank Jocelyn Thibault and Brian Pothier for there contributions as Blackhawks, and wish them good luck in Vancouver." - GM Mathias Vaigur said.
