NASHVILLE (AP) - The Nashville Predators have acquired defenseman David Hale along with prospects Adrian Foster and Anton Kadeykin, and two draft choices from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for center David Legwand, as well as the 15th and 19th overall picks in the upcoming OTHL Entry Draft.
Hale, 23, is a former first-round pick of the Devils, going 22nd overall in the 2000 draft. The 6-1, 215-pound native of Colorado Springs, Colorado is expected to fill the void left by Mark Eaton's departure earlier this week.
Adrian Foster, 22, was selected with the 28th pick by New Jersey in the 2001 draft. Foster's battled serious injury since the age of 16, having yet to play a full season of hockey since entering juniors. Despite this fact, he still remains one of the more offensively potent prospects in the Predator's organization.
Anton Kadeykin, a 20 year-old defender, was selected in the second-round of the 2002 Entry Draft out of Russia. The 6-4 205-pound blueliner possesses great strength, and plays a physical, hard-hitting style of play. The Predators expect him to be ready within the next couple of years, possibly seeing time as early as next season.
Under the terms of the deal, the Predators also recieve the 22nd overall pick, as well as a 2nd round selection in the upcoming draft.
