Glendale, AZ> With rumors rampant for several days of a pending transaction, the NHL Network is reporting that pending OTHL league approval, the Phoenix Coyotes have traded the 3rd overall selection (previously acquired), along with a 3rd round pick and a low 2007 draft pick in exchange for Nikolai Zherdev and Nick Schultz.
"We said we would be active to remake this roster, and we continue to shop around," said GM Owner, President and GM Garrett Hansford.
"We've informed Mr. Zherdev that he is on the market, and that we hope he'll just be a Coyote in name. However, if we cannot reach another agreement on his rights, we'll be more than happy to welcome him to the Valley of the Sun."
