Today the Phoenix Coyotes captain Mats Sundin signed a new 4 year deal. This may be the final contract of Sundin and he was convinced to sign with the Coyotes as they offered him a no-trade clause.
"I wanted to stay here and the no-trade clause ensured me for sure. I'm too old to be moving around the league. I want to try to build something here and see if we can improve over these next years. I'm sure we have the desire to push ourselves further and we will definately be a playoff team maybe not this year, but not before long."
"Our captain is here to stay and we are very pleased. We will build our team around him and our hopes are that he will help us reach the next level" said GM Jorgensen
