The Chicago Blackhawks have acquired defender Wade Brookbank and winger Steve McLaren from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for a 8th round draft pick in the 2006 entry draft (org owner Colorado).
Wade Brookbank (28) is a 6'4, 225lbs defender/winger who was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Ottawa Senators in 2001. Brookbank has yet to play a OTHL game.
Steve McLaren (31) is a 6'0, 210lbs winger who was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 1994 entry draft. Just like Brookbank, McLaren has yet to play a game in the OTHL.
"Both Wade and Steve are hard nosed players, and they are what I like to call true Chicago players. They work hard, they stand up for there teammates and they are not afraid to drop there gloves. With Wade and Steve on the team, we are without a doubt the toughest team in the OTHL." - GM Mathias Vaigur.
Both players will join the Chicago as soon as possible.
