Bruins reach agreements with Kiprusoff and Letowski.
The Boston Bruins have been able to reach contract agreements with their only 2 restricted free agents. Miika Kiprusoff and Trevor Letowski both agreed to terms this evening, but as per team policy those terms were not released to the press.
“Miika is a good goaltender who had a very good regular season, but we wanted to go short term, allow him to prove to us that he is worth the mega bucks that the older veteran goaltenders are currently earning” Gm Dan Fillion said during the press conference. “We came to a quick agreement with his agent; he felt this was best for both parties. Miika is a couple of years away from being able to test the UFA waters, and he made it clear he wanted to have a stellar season so he could cash in on a long term deal next summer.”
“Trevor is the consummate journeyman. He knows his role. He will see 4th line icetime but will be ready to fill in if we have any injuries. He is the type of player who does the dirty work to help teams win championships.”
Next up fop the Bruins, preparation for UFA.
