OTHL -- The trade freeze was lifted a couple days ago and we have already seen some big names being moved. Nikolai Khabibulin was made the scape goat in Detroit and was traded to Calgary in exchange for Jason Allison and Manny Fernandez. And the Flames got there "re-build" going by moving franchise winger Rick Nash to Florida for Alexander Frolov, Brad Stuard and Adam Deadmarsh who has said that he might retire. Florida also recived hard hitting defender Denis Gauthier and a draft pick in the upcoming entry draft.

Not only did the Red Wings new GM trade Nikolai Khabibulin to Calgary, but he also shipped out all-star defender Chris Pronger to the New York Islanders in exchange for Marc Denis and prospect Travis Zajac. And in Colorado another all-star defender was moved as Sergei Zubov was traded along with Rod Brind'Amour to Columbus Blue Jackets. Coming back to Colorado is Steve Montadore and some draft picks.

So while the off-season is young, the trading is already involving some big names. And know various OTHL GM's, we know this is not the end of things... it is just the beginning.
