Eleven straight

Mårten Eriksson

GM, Phoenix Coyotes

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- The Phoenix Coyotes continued their impressing winning streak last night, winning an eleventh straight game. Led by Mats Sundin, who scored the gamewinner and assisted on another goal, the Coyotes took a 3-0 game lead in the series by winning game three with 3-1. Sundin is now alone at the top of the playoff scoring race with 7 goals and 9 assists in 12 games.

However, yet again it was the defense that won the game for Phoenix. The team has yet to allow more than two goals in a game in this years playoffs. Dwayne Roloson in goal, has only allowed 17 goals in 12 games, to go along with an excellent .948 saving percentage.

Injuries are piling up for the Coyotes however, with three players currently unavailable. Including top defenseman Kim Johnsson suffered a foot injury late in the first period in game three. He is expected to be out the rest of the playoffs, a big setback for Phoenix. Vancouver, on the other hand, will have to play without Pierre Turgeon for at least the reminder of the series. An ugly charging earned him a five game suspension.
