OTHL -- The Toronto Maple Leafs and the San Jose Sharks secured playoff spots today. The Leafs won against Atlanta (4-2) and reached the magic number of 94 to reserv themselfs a spot in the post-season. With Toronto in, there are only 2 spots left up for grab in the eastern conference. Right now Buffalo (87) and Montreal (86) are holding down the 7th and 8th place. But Tampa Bay (86) are tied with Montreal in points, and could very well make it. But Montreal has a game in hand on Tampa Bay. And thanks(?) to tonights loss to Toronto, it looks like Atlanta will miss the big dance. The Thrashers are just 2 points behind Montreal, but they have played 80 games and must win both of there reamining games, while Montreal and Tampa Bay both loses the rest of there games.

In the west there are still 4 places available, but Vancouver, who lost today (0-4) just need 1 point in there remaining 3 games to secure there place in the playoffs. This while the Sharks grabed there place in the playoffs today with a 3-3 tie against Phoenix. Alex Koroluyk where the game winner with 2 goals in the last four minutes, giving the Sharks the needed points.
