Hemsky named MVP of YoungStars

Matt Seaman

GM, Edmonton Oilers

-Edmonton-

Edmonton has made it no secret that this season is a re-building year, despite how close they are to a playoff position. This weekend, a couple of young Oiler's got to display there skills at the OTHL YoungStars game, which has fast become the highlight of All-Star weekend.

The two Oiler's taking part in the game were right-winger Ales Hemsky and centre Stephen Weiss. Hemsky caught the attention of the entire league with his MVP-earning performance, registering 3 goals and 1 assist, while putting on a clinic on the ice.

Weiss was no slouch himself, registering a point in a relatively low-scoring all-star affair. Both were overheard stating that they were overjoyed with their performance in this exciting, yet meaningless game.

If these performances are any clue, Edmontons future is very bright.
