OTHL -- Yesterday the roster for the Eastern Conference All-Star team was released to the media, and today the Western Conference Roster is announced. The East had young up and coming star center Eric Staal from the Carolina Hurricanes, the West will have St Louis rookie and the leagues leading rookie scorer Rickard Wallin in the lineup. And we caught up with Rickard today after the Blues 3-2 loss to the Bruins in the FleetCenter, and despite the loss the young Swede managed to get a smile on his face.
"This is very big, to be named to the all-star game, in my first season in the OTHL. I am surprised and I must say a bit shocked. This is a hugh honour and I am proud to represent the St Louis Blues at the game." - Wallin said, he also hoped he would be able to pick up something from the other players at the game. "Its the top players in the game that is playing, so I think I will be able to pick up a trick or two. Plus some autographs would be nice too...", Wallin added with a smile.
Derek Morris who was voted on as a starter for the Western All-Stars, will not play in the game as he was traded to Buffalo Sabres a couple days ago. Morris will be replaced as a starter by Chicago veteran Chris Chelios and the Oilers will insted be represented by Robyn Regher on the West blueline.
