Jay Ramirez struck again with another deal tonight. Ramirez moved pick number 14 in tomorrows draft along with Danius Zubrus and Ivan Cirnek, along with a 5th round draft pick tomorrow.
In Return, the Capitals recieved Shawn Horcroff, Winger Jason Chimera and prized prospect Jay Woywitka. The Capitals have bolstered their crop of prospects this week, adding Adam Stewart, Filip Novak, Jay Woywitka.
What does this trade do for the Caps?
After trading picks number 3,14,27 and 29 the Capitals got more than they could have asked for out of the draft. They got their Yvengi Malkin and Cam Barker by acquiring Adam Stewart and Jay Woywitka. Not only that, they got Filip Novak who is another strong defensive prospect. Loosing Danius Zubrus may hurt the Capitals, however Shawn Horcroff is not a big downgrade. The Capitals organization realizes the playoffs will be a long reach this season, however, with the recent additions it will not be long until the Capitals will be close to the top of the East.
