OTHL NEWS AGENCY - - The OTHL held there first annual draft lottery today, and after some nervous waiting for the teams involved in the lottery it was announced that the Chicago Blackhawks had won the lottery, and therefore moved up one spot in the draft from 2nd place to 1st. The Penguins that held the 1st overall pick prior to the draft, now moves down one spot and picks as number 2.

The Blackhawks GM Mathias Vaigur was interviewed right after the lottery outcome was announced, and he was happy with the outcome. "We are of course very happy with the outcome of the lottery. We where happy with our place before the lottery too, but if you get the first overall pick you are of course in a great position. We have focused our scouting as if we where going to pick at 2nd or 3rd, but now we have to make some adjustments and scout as number one."

GM Vaigur also said that the Hawks would not try and move the pick. "You should never say never. But we are 99.9% sure that we are keeping the pick. We are aware that we could probably get a nice return for this pick, but we feel that the players available in this draft are perfect for our rebuild."

In the first round of this years draft Washington holds three picks (#3, #27, #28) while Buffalo (#13, #14), Nashville and Carolina has two first round picks each.
