Last season his teammate Evgeni Malkin won it. The Sharks also picked up the Jack Adams Award, as Ron Wilson was picked as the best coach this past season, after leading his Sharks to the Presidents Trophy and the first team in OTHL history with more then 50 wins in a season.

The winner of the Norris Trophy was also a none-surprise, as Nicklas Lidström picked up his first OTHL Norris after scoring 83 points, 21 points more then Sheldon Souray who also picked up some votes in the Norris voting.
