OTHL -- The Chicago Blackhawks might have slumped a bit after a great start, but Alexander Ovechkin is still flying high in the Windy City. Today the young Russian was given the Player of the Week award after he scored 5 goals and had 8 points in 3 games last week. Ovechkin also had 10 hits and a +8 rating. Thanks to his strong week, Ovechkin leads the league in goals and in points. He took the award right ahead of Los Angeles Kings Eric Belanger and team mate Joe Sakic who just like Belanger, had 7 points in 3 games.

Martin Biron the Los Angeles Kings goalie, edged out Roberto Luongo and Miikka Kiprusoff as he won the Goaltender of the Week award with a 3-0-0 record. Biron allowed only 3 goals in the 3 wins he had last week, giving him a spectacular .964 save percentage.
