Welcome to the Second Edition of Comings and Goings. With us again is our hockey expert Harley Akkerit, who is here to fill us in with his thoughts on all the latest OTHL trades.
To Florida: Kyle McLaren
To New Jersey: Hal Gill
Akkerit’s Opinion: Gill is a beast, 6’7 250lbs. While it’s great that he is such a huge body, he is also a pilon who can no longer keep up with the play. McLaren, while overrated, is still a solid pick up in this deal.
To Boston: Sergei Fedorov
To Phoenix: Robert Lang, Todd Marchant
Akkerit’s Opinion: Sergei Fedorov, is still a great player and will definitely help Boston’s cup run. Lang has said he’s testing the market and Marchant, like him or not, is overpaid for what he provides. With the cap going down he will be nothing more than a pain. Thumbs up to Boston on this one.
