OTHL -- Ed Belfour showed tonight that he is still a top netminder in the OTHL, Belfour turned in a vintage performance for his Leafs as he made 41 saves in the 2-2 tie against Boston. The two teams played each other earlier in the pre-season, a game where the Bruins won 2-1 in a game where Belfour looked like the old Belfour. But tonight, Eddie "The Eagle" stood on his head to help his team get a tie, despite getting outshoot 43 to 19.

After a close first period where the two teams shared the goals, the Bruins took over the game. Kirk Maltby scored for Boston while Petr Nedved added a powerplay tally to tie up the game in the first. In the second period, it was Boston vs Belfour. Belfour made 17 saves in the middle period, while Miikka Kiprusoff in the Bruins net only had to stop 4 shots in the middle period. However, the strong play from Belfour keept the game close scoring wise as the game was still tied after the first two periods.

And the story continued in the third period. The Bruins created scoring chances, just to find themselfs stoped by Belfour. And with seven minutes to go, the Leafs took advantage of a powerplay and scored there second powerplay goal for the night. Sergei Gonchar was in the box when Mike Ribeiro found the net with his second goal in the pre-season. A lead that looked like it would last, but Mark Recchi stole the puck from a Leaf defender and tied up the game with five minutes to go. And as it turned out, that was the last goal scored in the game.
