Canucks Deal Fedorov Jr.

Greg Byron

GM, Vancouver Canucks

Vancouver, (BC) - After several months of rumors swirling around Fedor Fedorov, the Vancouver Canucks have finally dealt the young left winger. The rumors started flying around this season's training camp and from time to time they would pop up again. Fedorov is off to Toronto where his superstar older brother, Sergei is one of the main cornerstones. It has been widely publicized that Fedor and Canucks management were not seeing eye-to-eye. It started when Fedor refused to attend rookie camp and then he decided to coast through the main camp, thinking he had a sure spot on the big club. GM Greg Byron would have none of it and refused to sign Fedor to a pro deal.

Along with Fedor, the Canucks gave up a 5th round pick in 2005 in exchange for a crafty young center by the name of Kyle Brodziak. Brodziak was a junior standout for the WHL's Moose Jaw Warriors and is now playing in his first season of pro hockey.
