Pondering Moves

Jan Lapiolahti

GM, Florida Panthers

Florida-

Most of the league thought the Panthers would be a cellar team this season. Panthers have proven them wrong and are currently 4th in the Eastern Conference, #1 Penalty kill in the league, 5th in team scoring (3,00 G/P/G), #2 GAA, Tied #1 for SPG and #2 in Shots against. They also have 5 players with 30 or more points.

What the secret behind there succees? Team chemistry, great defensem awesome goaltending and offense that is clicking. Even tho all this Florida Panthers GM is reportable pondering trade offers. A blockbuster was made an week ago where they received Nicklas Lidstrom but the trade was voided by the BOD.

Why make trades if the team has chemistry? "I dont think making few moves to make us better will hurt our chemistry. I really want to acquire an superstar forward for the playoff run and I wouldnt mind a clear cut #1 dman. Currently we have 4 #2 dmans and it's working good so I wont be unhappy even if we cant land an #1 dman" Panthers GM

Who could be moved then?

Martin Gelinas - Alexander Frolov has played awesome and Gelinas has been dropped to the 4th line. Most likely to move.

Mike LecLerc - One of Gelinas or LecLerc will be moved. Log jam at 3rd LW. Both can play #2 LW if injuries.

Michael Rupp - Nathan Horton is coming! Rupp is an great young checking rw with potential.

Alexander Mogilny - GM favorite (30 points this season already) yet could be moved because super play by two-way forward Michael Ryder.

Every DMAN - Tough pickle. Panthers like all there dman but there willing to move any of them if the offer is right.
